Holmby Hills near los angeles and Culver City is an affluent neighborhood in the district of Westwood in western Los Angeles, California. It is notable for its luxurious residences and famous occupants. Along with Beverly Hills and Bel Air, Holmby Hills forms the “Platinum Triangle” of Los Angeles’ wealthiest neighborhoods.
Historically, Holmby Hills has been home to many lavish estates, some of which have achieved landmark status. The most famous among these is probably the Playboy Mansion, the former residence of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

The neighborhood was conceived in the early 20th century by the Janss Investment Company, which developed the Holmby Hills area into residential lots of varying sizes. The company had earlier developed the residential areas of Westwood and Holmby Park, which, along with Holmby Hills, are often collectively referred to as the “three H’s”.
One of the most appealing aspects of Holmby Hills is its sense of seclusion and privacy, despite being located in a bustling city. The neighborhood is known for its tree-lined streets and grandiose homes, many of which sit on large plots of land. The design of the community and its strict building codes were set up to protect this characteristic.
